Your Guide - Lorna Vallely
Lorna Vallelyn grew up in Co. Kildare in the midlands of Ireland and was greatly influenced by gardening relatives including her mother, Berenice.
Lorna moved to Australia in 1986 where she instantly fell in love with Australian native plants. Lorna graduated from Charles Sturt University with an Environmental Horticulture degree. Her garden design business, Ground Designs, enabled her to pursue her long-time ambition of designing gardens near her home on a sheep property near Crookwell in the southern tablelands of NSW. She and her husband, Paul, opened their garden as part of the Australian Open Garden Scheme when it was still in existence. Lorna Vallely was one of the founding members and chairperson of the highly successful Crookwell Garden Festival, now in its 5th year. Lorna Vallely has written garden articles over a period of 4 years for her ‘Ear to the Ground’ series for the Crookwell Gazette newspaper and has contributed articles for the Garden Drum website. Lorna Vallely continues to have a passionate interest in gardens and garden design in particular. |
